Welcome to the Somerset Elementary Library Media Center (LMC)

 Our Mission is to provide students and staff access to information in a variety of formats for instructional and leisure purposes and to provide instruction which fosters competence in the effective use of these materials.

 Flexible Schedule

Students visit the LMC twice a cycle. Once is for a 30-minute lesson on technology and the other is a 30-minute lesson about library skills and book checkout.

 
Student Check out Privileges

Kindergarten-1st grade students can check out 2 books at a time.

2nd-4th graders are allowed to check out 3 books.

 
Overdue Materials

All materials are checked out to students for two weeks. Overdue notices are sent home with each student monthly if needed. There is no fine for overdue materials. However, check out privileges can be suspended until overdue materials are returned.
 

Lost/Damaged Materials:

If a material is lost or damaged beyond repair, the replacement value is asked of the patron so the item can be replaced. The value of the item will be determined by the library media specialist based on current prices. The patron will be encouraged to use the LMC materials but borrowing privileges may be suspended.
